Welcome Fall
“Delicious autumn! My soul is wedded to it; and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.”
~George Eliot
(also known by her real name Mary Anne Evans)
Tomorrow we welcome the fall season. Sometimes I don’t know how the time goes by so fast. Not long ago I launched this blog and embarked on my writing career. It was January. It feels like it was yesterday.
We are heading into my favorite time of year. I love the casual, carefree warmth of summer. I always will. But fall, and winter, speak to my homebody ways. Fall also makes me feel more disciplined. I can best describe it this way. When the days are short and cold I feel less inclined to play. My lipstick and nail polish shades get darker, and suddenly I feel glamorous. Rich, heavy fabrics emerge from the dark corners of my closet, and I naturally put more thought into each outfit. I get to wear my prettiest shoes again. I let my hair down. Literally.
It’s like magic.
I look forward to keeping my house cozy, curling up with my laptop and writing about all the things that inspire me.
I look forward to warm fires in my family room, and lots of cuddling. Preferably with my pups, but I’ll enjoy some cuddling with my husband, too.
I look forward to rainy days and changing colors,
crisp apples and comfort foods.
But most of all I look forward to love, and enjoying time with those I cherish more than anything in this world.
Have a beautiful fall season, everyone.
